Like many things these days our ward scouting program finds itself underfunded. Instead of placing the burden on the parents of the ward we have decided to get to work and have another fundraiser to help fund our summer camp and equipment needs.
The Coleman family has generously offered to let us cut and split some downed fir trees on their property in Castle Rock and sell it for firewood.
The date is October 7th and 8th. We plan on meeting at the church at 4 PM and driving up and spending the night and cutting and splitting the wood on Saturday the 8th. We really need all the YM and their leaders to attend. Many hands make light work.
Our goal is to raise $2,000. We are offering cords of firewood at $200 delivered to the driveway or for an additional $50 stacked and put away. Discounts for seniors in the ward.
We need the wards help in offering man power, trucks and trailers to help haul the wood. We also have need of chain saws and log splitters. If you can help in any of these areas please contact me.
Please put the word out to your friends and neighbors who may need firewood to contact me or any YM leaders. We would like to have it all pre-sold and just cut to order.
